Copper Domed Roof

Copper Dome Photograph by Tim Irving
Copper Dome - Tim Irving
I didn't see any thatched animal sculptures over the weekend, but last Friday I stumbled upon this beauty. It's an old windmill that's been converted to a house. I think the dome is its crowning glory.

  1. That is cool!

Last summer I went out and took shots of some local churches with copper domes, but they have yet to patina to this wonderful color.

  2. Lovely patina. Turquoise is one of my favorite colors, as is copper. Isn't it wonderful that with age the copper becomes another fantastic color?!

  3. A very arresting photograph, Tim. It's not just the roof, it's everything. Beautiful job.

(Because of the mood and the bird in flight, looking at the photo has caused me to remember the very tender tuppence scene in Mary Poppins.)
